Building Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Builder to join our Estates team at Malborough College. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance and improvement of our college premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Team Leader in overseeing the work of the team to ensure high-quality repairs, maintenance, and improvement of college premises.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of Estates Health and Safety risk assessments.
- Ensure the safe and efficient use of machinery, materials, and tools used in connection with the job role.
- Participate in the development and implementation of maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize resource allocation.
- Collaborate with other teams to identify and address maintenance needs, ensuring a proactive approach to facility management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in general building work, groundwork, new and maintenance work to brickwork and blockwork, plasterwork, and roofing.
- Ability to work at heights and in enclosed spaces, with a strong focus on safety and adherence to protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to workload and priorities.
