About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group UK & Ireland. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of food production, ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation and presentation of food for our clients, including pupils and staff.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to meet the changing needs of our clients.
  • Lead and motivate a team of chefs and kitchen staff to achieve excellent results.
  • Monitor and control food costs, ensuring that we are operating within budget.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest food trends and innovations, applying this knowledge to improve our menu offerings.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for kitchen staff, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of food production and presentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Knowledge of health and nutritional guidelines, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and holidays, as required.
