Our Data Platforms Team
We're transforming how we work with data, and we're looking for a talented Product Owner to join our Data Engineering and Platforms organization. As a result of our separation from Eli Lilly, we've created a data environment that leverages modern technologies, platforms, and concepts to support all functions of the business.
Role Overview
We're seeking a Product Owner who will be accountable for the capabilities, products, and services within our Consumption and Enterprise Data Products technology portfolio. This role will drive the continuous evolution of platform and dataset capabilities and adoption, enabling sustainable scaling and value realization.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and enhance products and services in the Consumption portfolio, including Power BI and critical enterprise datasets.
- Set and evangelize the portfolio roadmap, engaging with stakeholders to understand unmet and unidentified needs.
- Manage the portfolio backlog, prioritizing and making tough trade-off decisions.
- Evangelize the portfolio's capabilities, products, and services through engagement activities, demos, and showcases.
- Serve as a key technical point of contact for the portfolio.
- Maintain relationships with vendors to understand their capabilities and escalate issues.
- Evaluate solutions to enable metrics for adoption, performance, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with support teams to establish operational and service management processes.
- Analyze and communicate the cost of the portfolio.
- Engage in communities to share, educate, and inspire.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technology capabilities and trends.
- Serve as a point of escalation for significant issues impacting the services and platforms.
- Ensure the portfolio's products and services are qualified and validated.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in technology service, project, and product leadership, managing complex global environments.
- Extensive experience delivering enterprise technology solutions.
- Extensive experience working with public cloud services, especially Azure and Google.
- Experience with data tools, technologies, and platforms, preferably those in the portfolio.
- Demonstrable learning agility for new technologies and platforms.
- Experience defining and executing large-scale, transformative strategic plans.
- Significant ability to effectively prioritize within a global environment and drive quantitatively assessed learning and progress.
- Demonstrable emotional intelligence, stakeholder management, negotiation, deep thinking, and time management skills.
- The ability to translate between stakeholder groups, conveying technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong personal accountability and organization.
- Comfort driving decisions and acting despite ambiguity.
- Ability to drive diverse groups and agendas to productive consensus.
- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in a technical discipline, or the equivalent work experience.
