About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Research Programme Manager to join our team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of a 60-month research programme focused on improving patient safety and quality of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, development, and delivery of the research programme, ensuring timely and budget-friendly execution.
  • Collaborate with research groups across partner universities and NHS trusts to achieve programme objectives.
  • Coordinate the work of research nurses, project managers, and other team members to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Manage budgets, design studies, and engage with senior executives and healthcare teams to facilitate study setup.
  • Oversee fieldwork, ethics applications, and the collection of routine data across work-packages.
  • Lead on delivering presentations and supporting the writing of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Coordinate the trial and liaise with the clinical trials unit in the delivery of the feasibility study and full trial.
  • Establish and manage the patient panel, supporting governance arrangements.
Requirements
  • Experience in delivering research projects to time and budget.
  • Experience in designing research studies at a strategic level.
  • Experience in writing for publication and producing other forms of written communication project reports.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and conducting interdisciplinary research projects (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Experience of trial design and management.
  • Experience of managing research or clinical staff.
  • Experience in managing research budgets.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience of recruitment of research staff (shortlisting, interviewing, etc).
  • Experience of delivering research projects in the NHS.
