Quantum Computing Front-end Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Front-end Engineer to join our Cambridge-based cloud platform team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our quantum computing platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build robust front-ends for web applications that enable users to collaborate on quantum experiments.
  • Work closely with designers to translate UI designs into reliable and performant code.
  • Apply your technical expertise to develop and maintain our cloud platform.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience developing professional web applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of web fundamentals (CSS, HTML, JS) and Typescript.
  • Experience working with React or other UI frameworks (ideally Next JS).
  • Strong understanding of overall web application performance.
  • Unit and E2E testing experience with tools like Jest or Cypress.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (a11y, WAI-ARIA).
  • A 2:1 degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering.
Desirable Skills:
  • Interest in Quantum Computing.
  • Experience of implementing data visualization, particularly for scientific data.
  • Experience of working with Fast API.
  • Experience of programming in Rust.
