About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing technologies in our Global Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network.

Your primary focus will be on planned preventative maintenance, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment. You will engage in the mitigation of risks by proactively addressing and resolving issues, raising the availability and quality of the equipment.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with our operational team, customers, and leaders to provide high levels of equipment availability. You will also support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through your line manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure compliance with all health & safety standards and regulations, prioritizing health & safety best practices in all work carried out.
  2. Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a full range of equipment within the site, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  3. React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams, and work efficiently to fix the issue.
  4. Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
  5. Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  6. Support and learn from Senior Reliability Engineering Technicians.
  7. Manage contractors effectively.
Requirements
  1. Served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent (must hold Level 3 qualification with satisfactory Guided Learning Hours).
  2. Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  3. Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
  4. Experience fault finding within MHE (Material Handling Equipment)/Automation systems.
  5. Experience in interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings.
  6. Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng.
  2. Experience of high voltage switching.
  3. Experience of sortation machines.
  4. Experience of maintaining/configuring barcode scanners.
  5. Experience of print and apply machines.
  6. Experience in fault finding on building equipment i.e. HVAC, Dock Doors, plumbing and general building maintenance tasks.
