We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Histology Associate Practitioner to join our team at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a key member of our Cellular Pathology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality analytical and interpretive laboratory services to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory duties required in the analysis of histological and diagnostic cytology clinical specimens.
- Work as part of a large team, providing support to Biomedical Scientists and Histopathologists within the department.
- Rotate through all sections of our Histology and Diagnostic Cytology laboratories, undertaking data input and extract, specimen handling and processing, section cutting and routine and specialist staining.
- Maintain and update spreadsheets, numerical filing of blocks, slides, and request cards.
- NVQ Level 3 in Clinical Laboratory Support or equivalent.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft computer packages (Word and Excel) and experience of data input, extract, and manipulation.
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety, confidentiality, and data quality.
- Ability to work under own initiative and prioritize tasks effectively.
