About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Histology Associate Practitioner in the Cellular Pathology department at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory duties required in the analysis of histological and diagnostic cytology clinical specimens to ensure effective patient diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment.
  • Work as part of a large team, providing support to Biomedical Scientists and Histopathologists within the department.
  • Rotate through all sections of the Histology and Diagnostic Cytology laboratories, undertaking data input, extract, and manipulation, as well as specimen handling and processing.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality analytical and interpretive laboratory service, supporting the department's objective of a 7-day service.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in a scientific related field or equivalent level of applied training.
  • Theoretical knowledge and practice in a range of routine and non-routine scientific work procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively.
  • Methodical and organized approach to work, with the ability to work under own initiative once fully trained.
