Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Practitioner to join our Histology Department on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment and play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in the processing and preparation of tissue samples for microscopic examination, working under the guidance of experienced histologists.
  • Perform routine biomedical investigations and participate in the daily scientific and technical activities of the laboratory section, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Rotate through a range of specialist areas of the laboratory, including Microtomy, Embedding, Immunohistochemistry, and sample transfer.
  • Participate in cross-site working and contribute to the development of new tests and research.
  • Utilize laboratory computer applications, including LIMS and Quality Management System, to ensure efficient and accurate data entry.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of staff within the laboratory and user organization, maintaining a respectful and professional demeanor.
  • Maintain high personal standards and conform to Health and Safety and laboratory regulations.

  • Science or Biology-based Foundation Degree or Equivalent Qualification.
