At Carbon60, we are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to manage our East London site service projects. This is a permanent role, requiring 5 hours of work per week, from Monday to Thursday and Friday.

About the Role

This project position involves the effective delivery of site service projects in East London. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the management and allocation of: Labour, Resources, Materials, Plant, and sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Planning and Delivery: Ensure all projects are planned, managed, and delivered effectively within agreed budgets.
  2. Commercial and Contractual Elements: Understand the commercial and contractual elements of each project, and plan and deliver works accordingly.
  3. Site Surveys and Quotations: Conduct site surveys and scope site works to provide sufficient information for quotations for service works.
  4. Project Progress and Reporting: Continuously share information on project plans and progress to enable accurate revenue realisation, turnover forecasting, and labour scheduling.
  5. Site Meetings and Inspections: Attend site meetings and undertake site inspections when required.
  6. Health and Safety: Manage and maintain the highest possible standards of Health and Safety, in accordance with current legislation and procedures/policies laid down by the company.
  7. RAMS and H&S Documentation: Produce RAMS and other H&S documentation as the company and its clients require.
About You
  1. Experience: You should have at least 2 years' experience in a similar or related role within the mechanical engineering discipline, preferably in the water industry and a construction project environment.
  2. Commercial Awareness: You should have commercial awareness, including forecasting, construction contracts, and change management.
  3. Flexibility: You should be flexible to manage workload to take account of new deadlines and conflicting priorities.
  4. Planning and Organisation: You should have excellent planning and organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. Driving License: You should have a full driving license.
