About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Engineer to join our team at BAM Nuttall. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set a high standard of safety and environmental performance, leading by example and ensuring that all team members adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their development and success.
  • Monitor and control the work to prevent unsafe conditions and non-compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, designers, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques, ensuring accurate and efficient execution.
  • Verify that 3D information drawings and specification documents contain sufficient and accurate information for construction, and request any missing information.
  • Ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before work commences, and communicate effectively with foremen and gangers.
  • Confirm written instructions from clients, designers, and suppliers, and maintain comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works.
  • Arrange formal checking of setting out and complete check request forms.
  • Ensure reasonable survey book standards and daily diaries are maintained by engineers.
  • Complete inspection and test plans, and digitally record results.
  • Prepare 4-weekly programmes in conjunction with section foremen, and monitor progress for review at weekly site review meetings.
  • Prepare written risk assessments and method statements for the control of works.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary.
  • Carry out material take-offs and requisitions as requested by sub-agents or agents.
  • Ensure all delivery tickets are cost-coded and passed to the finance team for processing.
  • Ensure testing and sampling of materials is carried out as required by the specification.
Requirements
  • Qualified to ICE Technician or Incorporated level or equivalent (preferred)
  • Successful experience at site engineer level
  • Driving licence required
  • CSCS card required
  • Full-time on-site work
  • Excellent setting-out experience mandatory, with a focus on day-to-day setting-out activities
  • UK reinforced concrete experience required
