We are seeking a highly skilled Site Engineer to join our team at BAM Nuttall. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Set a high standard of safety and environmental performance, leading by example and ensuring that all team members adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their development and success.
- Monitor and control the work to prevent unsafe conditions and non-compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain excellent relationships with clients, designers, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques, ensuring accurate and efficient execution.
- Verify that 3D information drawings and specification documents contain sufficient and accurate information for construction, and request any missing information.
- Ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before work commences, and communicate effectively with foremen and gangers.
- Confirm written instructions from clients, designers, and suppliers, and maintain comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works.
- Arrange formal checking of setting out and complete check request forms.
- Ensure reasonable survey book standards and daily diaries are maintained by engineers.
- Complete inspection and test plans, and digitally record results.
- Prepare 4-weekly programmes in conjunction with section foremen, and monitor progress for review at weekly site review meetings.
- Prepare written risk assessments and method statements for the control of works.
- Keep a full and accurate daily site diary.
- Carry out material take-offs and requisitions as requested by sub-agents or agents.
- Ensure all delivery tickets are cost-coded and passed to the finance team for processing.
- Ensure testing and sampling of materials is carried out as required by the specification.
- Qualified to ICE Technician or Incorporated level or equivalent (preferred)
- Successful experience at site engineer level
- Driving licence required
- CSCS card required
- Full-time on-site work
- Excellent setting-out experience mandatory, with a focus on day-to-day setting-out activities
- UK reinforced concrete experience required
