The Publishers Association is a leading industry body dedicated to supporting and promoting the publishing sector. With a strong focus on research and statistics, we are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our ambitious research programme.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Research Director to lead our thought-leadership research projects, manage relationships with external providers, and curate industry data. The successful candidate will have excellent research and numerical skills, including a background in delivering both quantitative and qualitative research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and design research projects to deliver high-quality insights and recommendations to the Publishers Association Council.
  • Manage relationships with external statistics providers and consultancies to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data and statistics.
  • Curate industry data and surveys to support communications and public affairs activity, including responding to publisher queries and presenting findings to key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with international bodies, government, and devolved bodies to advance the interests of the publishing sector.

What We Offer

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:Excellent research and numerical skills, including a background in delivering both quantitative and qualitative research.A proven ability to work with statistics, either in previous roles or through educational qualifications.Demonstrable understanding of the role of research and statistics in underpinning policy & public affairs asks.Excellent written skills and ability to write briefings on key topics.Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.Good team player with the ability to work collaboratively.Good IT skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 package.
