Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Primary School teacher to join our team at the Pupil Referral Unit in Sutton. As a SEMH Primary School Class Educator, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality English lessons tailored to individual student needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver English lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
  2. Develop and maintain a supportive learning environment that promotes inclusivity and respect.
  3. Build strong relationships with pupils to foster positive attitudes towards learning.
  4. Contribute to the personal and academic development of students through collaborative efforts with the teaching team.
  5. Undertake planning, preparation, and assessment duties, as well as contribute to the broader responsibilities of a permanent member of staff.

Requirements:

  1. Holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  2. Previous experience teaching KS3 or primary-aged students, preferably in a PRU or similar setting.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in classroom management and adaptability to meet learner needs.
  4. Emotional intelligence, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting students with additional challenges.
  5. Possession of a valid DBS on the update service and the right to work in the UK.
  6. Proven experience in teaching and education.

Compensation and Benefits:

This role offers GBP160-GBP250 per day, along with access to accredited professional development courses and an in-house Training and Development Team.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will be based at Carshalton, situated within the London Borough of Sutton.
