Court of Protection Solicitor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join our team at Themis Recruit. As a Court of Protection Solicitor, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and representation to clients involved in matters related to mental capacity and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Representation: Represent clients in the Court of Protection in matters related to health, welfare, and financial decisions, providing legal advice and guidance to clients and their families regarding mental capacity issues.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of Court of Protection cases, ensuring all aspects of the legal process are handled effectively, drafting legal documents, including applications, witness statements, and court submissions.
  • Legal Research and Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law related to mental capacity and Court of Protection matters, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards in all aspects of client representation.
  • Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their case and explaining legal matters in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other legal professionals, healthcare professionals, and relevant authorities to ensure comprehensive support for clients, collaborating with the legal team to share knowledge and expertise in Court of Protection matters.
  • Advocacy: Attend court hearings and represent clients effectively in the Court of Protection, advocating for the best interests of clients who lack mental capacity.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with a valid practicing certificate, experience in Court of Protection work, and a strong understanding of mental capacity issues. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and research skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A high level of professionalism and ethical standards is essential.

We are open to considering candidates based in Manchester, London, Basingstoke, or Liverpool.
