We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Children\u2019s Residential Support Worker to join our team in Solihull. As a Senior Children\u2019s Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the management team in the day-to-day running of the service, which provides care and support to young people with emotional behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives
  • Maintain a safe and homely environment
  • Deal with challenging behaviors when needed
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide support for children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being
  • Maintain a safe environment for the young people
  • Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual\u2019s care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication
  • Support taxing behavior safely and sympathetically
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people\u2019s lives

Requirements:

  • NVQ or QCF Level 3/Level 4 in Children and Young People is ESSENTIAL
  • 2 years\u2019 experience in a residential children\u2019s home environment is ESSENTIAL
  • Full driving license is ESSENTIAL as you may be required to transport children from time to time
