The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist. As a key member of our Heat Networks team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in the heat networks sector.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing regulatory strategies to achieve our goals
  • Leading a team of enforcement officers and technical experts to ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, including the Department for Energy and Net Zero, OFGEM and internal teams
  • Providing expert guidance and advice to support improvement and drive the transition to net zero

You will be responsible for creating and implementing operational plans, including financial management and performance reporting. You will also be expected to deliver expert advice to government and foster positive collaboration throughout our organisation.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with a degree or equivalent in an engineering or related subject. You will possess the ability to quickly acquire and apply technical knowledge, and a track record of delivering technical regulations, operational projects or similar in the utilities sector.

You will have strong analytical abilities, including the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends and inform decision making. You will also have a strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and implement effective plans, adapt to changing priorities and deliver results under pressure.

You will be a strong communicator, with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills. You will be able to build excellent relationships with industry representatives, policymakers, consumers and other stakeholders. You should also be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to travel occasionally to sites within the UK.
