Audit Assistant Manager Job in St Albans

We are seeking a talented individual for an Audit Assistant Manager job in St Albans with a prestigious firm known for its excellence in audit, advisory, and accounting services.

This role is ideal for someone who is ACA or ACCA qualified (or nearing qualification) and has at least 2.5 years of audit experience in a similar-sized practice.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, performing, and completing engagements for large audit clients. Working closely with managers, directors, and partners, you will project manage the audit process, ensuring that audits are completed efficiently, within budget, and to a high standard.

This Audit Assistant Manager job in St Albans also involves supervising and training junior staff, helping them develop their technical skills and ensuring the quality of their work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning, performing, and completing audits for clients with turnovers up to £350 million
  • Project managing the audit process, liaising with clients to ensure progress and resolve any issues
  • Ensuring audits are completed with minimal supervision, on time, and within budget
  • Supervising, training, and assisting junior staff with technical accounting and auditing challenges
  • Preparing draft statutory accounts and consolidated accounts under FRS102, IFRS, and FRS101
  • Drafting recommendations for management improvements based on audit findings
  • Preparing responses for group reporting where the firm is the component auditor
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Contribute to the firm's growth by delivering consistent, high-quality audit and advisory services

Key Requirements:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or sitting finals imminently)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a practice of similar size, with a strong audit background
  • Technical proficiency in accounting and auditing standards, with the ability to tackle complex issues
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and staff
  • Experience with controls-based audits and the ability to handle challenging audit assignments
  • Organisational and commercial awareness, with a passion for delivering quality work
