About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our Complex Medical Retina Team. As a key member of our administration team, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth delivery of complex patient pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the work of the team to ensure efficient delivery of patient care.
  • Develop and implement effective administrative systems and processes to support the team.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles.
  • Act as a point of contact for patients, families, and external agencies, providing excellent customer service and ensuring that accurate records are maintained.
  • Monitor and report on team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of administrative systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and other administrative software.
