We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist Trainee. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our customers' overhead gantry cranes.

Your Key Responsibilities

">
  1. ">
  2. You will learn about the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical plant equipment, including motors, switchgear, cables & conductors, pumps, valves, gearboxes, pipework, integrated electromechanical power, and control systems.">
  3. You will gain knowledge of relevant industry health and safety standards, regulations, and environmental and regulatory requirements.">
  4. You will develop skills in planned, unplanned and preventative maintenance and operational practices, processes and procedures covering a range of plant and equipment.">
  5. You will study relevant engineering, including electrical theories and principles relative to the role of a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist.">

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

">
  • ">
  • A minimum of 5 National 5 grades (or equivalent) with a Grade 4/C or above in Maths, English, and a Science.">
  • The ability to climb ladders and work at heights.">
  • The ability to travel to a designated college in your area and live within commuting distance (30 miles) of the Branch location.">
  • Basic IT skills.">
  • Passed your driving test by the end of the first year of your apprenticeship.">

Upon completing your apprenticeship, you will achieve:

  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering.">
  • Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance.">

Compensation

">

Starting salary: £17,278.56 per annum.
