About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner. As a Trainee EMHP, you will have the opportunity to work and study to become an EMHP with a fast-growing team across Bradford.

The role is initially 12 months to complete the EMHP training at University 2 days per week and in-service 3 days per week, paid at Agenda for Change band 4. Upon successful completion of the EMHP Post Graduate Diploma and registration with the governing body, the post will be made permanent at AfC band 5.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop knowledge and practice skills in delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems in education settings.
  2. Help children and young people in these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services.
  3. Support and facilitate staff in education settings to identify and manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.
  4. Work with and within educational environments to provide better access to specialist mental health services.
  5. Evidence development of skills with associated knowledge acquisition to record and evidence progression towards an academic award and demonstrable practical ability.
