Part Time General Practitioner

We are seeking a dynamic salaried General Practitioner to join our team at St James Medical Centre. Our well-run practice offers good admin and nurse support, regular peer support, and a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care through telephone triage and face-to-face consultations, including home visits as necessary.
- Manage patient records, administer medication, and transmit relevant clinical information to other medical and nursing staff.
- Contribute to quality improvement work, maintaining the highest clinical standards and adhering to relevant guidelines and protocols.
- Undertake home visits and care for patients in nursing homes or residential homes.
- Promote the application of standards, protocols, and codes of practice set by the Royal College of General Practitioners, General Medical Council, and other regulatory bodies.
- Assist in the delivery of services and promotion of policies made by the practice.
- Contribute to the development of ideas, strategies, and policies that promote efficiency and well-being of service delivery.
- Ensure patient notes are accurate, up-to-date, and filed in accordance with appropriate protocol.
- Practice good prescribing and medicines management, adhering to British National Formulary guidance.
- Have in place suitable guidance for referrals to other medical service providers, ensuring local guidelines are followed and adequate information is provided.
- Be supportive of the complaints policy and procedure, ensuring proper investigation and follow-up action in the event of a complaint.

Health and SafetyIn accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other supplementary legislation, you are required to take reasonable care to avoid injury during the course of work and cooperate with CCG/Practice and others in meeting statutory regulations.
Requirements- GP Vocational or additional experience in general practice, with a certificate or equivalent.
- Commitment to professional development and ongoing learning.
- Able to perform minor surgery and have experience with Emis Web.
- Understanding of Clinical Governance and quality issues, as well as health and social policy.
- Ability to make accurate, clear, and concise medical notes, both computerized and manual.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and understanding of the role of teamwork in providing quality care.
- Flexible and a good timekeeper, with a commitment to continuing professional development.
