Role Overview
As a Placement Civil Construction Engineer, you will engage in daily site activities and report to senior engineers. You will collaborate with industry experts to deepen your understanding of your project, and with mentorship and coaching, you will face exciting challenges that will help you build a successful career in this dynamic field.
Project Details
Farrans is currently undertaking a significant infrastructure project in Northern Ireland, focusing on enhancing the Northern Irish Water system. The project aims to improve water quality and supply reliability, ensuring sustainable water services for the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake surveys and setting-out on site
- Prepare drawings and calculations to ensure quality control and compliance procedures are adhered to for engineering
- Monitor construction progress to ensure that deadlines are being met
- Liaise with clients and carry out site investigations
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and other parties involved in the construction project to ensure that all work is completed according to specifications
- Liaise with quantity surveyors about the ordering and the pricing of materials
- Ensure that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to
Requirements
- Studying a Civil or Construction/Project Management Degree
- Hold a full UK driving license
- Passionate about starting a career in the civils industry
- High attention to detail coupled with meticulous planning and organisational skills
- Demonstrate a strong interest in all aspects of engineering and looking for a dynamic workplace that provides an outstanding career opportunity
- Excellent good communication skills, be able to work flexibly in a team and be a hard worker
