Senior Finance Director

The NHS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Specialised Commissioning Business Partner Team. As a key member of the Finance and Planning Directorate, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Integrated Finance and Planning Business Partner (IFPBP) team in supporting the Chief Financial Officer Group and its sub directorates in achieving their goals.
The IFPBP team plays a critical role in bridging the gap between project and programme teams and specialist finance and planning teams. The postholder will establish strong relationships and a deep understanding of programmes to ensure the business receives the necessary finance and planning support to improve patient care.
The successful candidate will have a key role in delivering the objectives of the Specialised Commissioning Directorate, including the delegation of certain specialised services to Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and oversight of high-cost drugs and devices spend.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the IFPBP team in providing financial management and governance support to the Chief Financial Officer Group and its sub directorates.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with programme teams and specialist finance and planning teams to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- Develop and implement robust planning and financial forecasting arrangements to ensure the NHS delivers targets and value for money.
- Deploy excellent influencing skills and stakeholder management to work effectively with Government, teams across NHS England, and in systems and providers.
- Effectively manage and develop staff, promoting personal, organisational, and cultural development.
