About the Role

The North West School of Radiology is seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologist to lead our Interventional Radiology Simulation Suite at Aintree University Hospital.

As a Simulation Lead, you will work collaboratively with the School and NW Imaging Academies to champion interventional radiology simulation education across the North West.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement SOPs and guides for trainers and trainees.
  • Maximise the potential of IR Simulation Education and support Radiologists and multi-professional groups to deliver training and education.
  • Contribute to teaching and room induction with NW School of Radiology trainees.
  • Ensure kit and consumables are regularly inspected and secure, and liaise with colleagues for restock and repair.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Consultant in Interventional Radiology on the Specialist Register.
  • Membership or Fellowship of The Royal College of Radiologists.
  • Consultant currently working in NHS in North-West England.

Desirable

  • Minimum 2 years post CCT.
  • Formal educational qualification PGCert/FHEA Accreditation or equivalent educational experience.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of organising/delivering education programmes/courses in Clinical Radiology.
  • Experience of creating both online & in person teaching material.
  • Previous or current appointment as an Educational Supervisor.

Desirable

  • Prior teaching experience within the Radiology Academy.
  • Prior Leadership role within Education/Training.

Skills

Essential

  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • Demonstrable Leadership skills and an ability to motivate others.

  • An experienced educator and trainer with a vision for developing pedagogical methods of delivery.

Desirable

  • Ability to rapidly establish academic credibility.
