Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Waste Water Recycling team at Severn Trent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment and assets to ensure the efficient operation of our wastewater treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively and reactively maintain mechanical assets onsite, including pumps, chemical dosing systems, gearboxes, high-pressure systems, gas systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, valves, motors, generators, drive belts, conveyors, and scrapers.
  • Perform fabrication, lubrication, and welding activities as required.
  • Continuously improve the mechanical asset base through proactive review and monitoring of asset health and availability.
  • Complete lifting operations safely in accordance with LOLER regulations.
  • Fault find and diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Interpret and update mechanical drawings.
  • Support the design and build of new processes.
  • Own site mechanical performance and monitor treatment processes using SCADA systems, acting on alarms as required.
Requirements:
  • NVQ level Mechanical qualification.
  • A full UK driving license is required for the role.
  • Working knowledge of industrial mechanical installation requirements and standards.
  • Experience working with process control systems and various IT systems.
  • Sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
