About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Waste Water Recycling team at Severn Trent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical assets, ensuring the efficient operation of our wastewater treatment processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively and reactively maintain mechanical assets, including pumps, chemical dosing systems, gearboxes, and high-pressure systems.
  • Perform fabrication, lubrication, and welding activities as required.
  • Continuously improve the mechanical asset base through proactive review and monitoring of asset health and availability.
  • Complete lifting operations safely in accordance with LOLER regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, interpreting and updating mechanical drawings as necessary.
  • Support the design and build of new processes, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Monitor treatment processes using SCADA systems and respond to alarms as required.
Requirements
  • NVQ level Mechanical qualification.
  • Full UK driving license required for the role.
  • Working knowledge of industrial mechanical installation requirements and standards.
  • Sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic instrumentation skills desirable, but not essential.
