About the Role

West London NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our financial leadership team, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day operation of our financial accounts and treasury functions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Governance and Reporting: Responsible for key information in the production and submission of the Trust's accounts, ensuring that statutory guidelines, accounting standards and timescales are fully met.
  2. Financial Analysis and Advice: Provision of regular and ad-hoc financial accounts information to both external and internal groups, and provision of technical accounting advice to members of Trust staff.
  3. Financial Management and Control: Reconciliation of all balance sheet codes to ensure the Trust's financial position is accurately reflected, and control and maintenance of the chart of accounts in respect of the balance sheet.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  1. Qualifications: CCAB qualified accountant, educated to degree level or equivalent, and evidence of up-to-date CPD.
  2. Experience: Post qualification experience in senior finance/leadership role, management of staff within finance function, change management experience, and able to lead a diverse team.
  3. Skills: Good oral and written communication skills, able to influence positively in difficult situations and with difficult people, leadership and staff management skills including conflict resolution, and able to anticipate problems, appraise risks, consider overall implications and make effective and difficult decisions.
