This is an exciting opportunity to join our Marine Claims team as a Claims Adjuster, where you will manage and resolve claims within our portfolio of Hull, Cargo, and Liability claims for customers across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving claims notifications, assessing estimates, and negotiating claims up to and including settlement within personal authority.
  • Instructing and controlling surveyors, loss adjusters, solicitors, and experts in connection with day-to-day claims handling.
  • Ensuring collaboration with Assistant Managers and Practice leaders for consistent claims handling.
  • Effective diary management of all claims and managing static and inactive claims as required.
  • Supporting underwriting teams and partners in connection with claim trends and business development activities.
  • Working with Management and Claims Legal to manage litigation strategy on claims.
  • Assisting the Marine team in key initiatives within the product line.

Requirements:

  • Good numerical and literacy skills (Minimum GCSE passes in Mathematics and English).
  • Good PC and systems skills (relevant XL CATLIN systems, MS Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Some experience of Marine insurance lines and knowledge of Marine Insurance is highly beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of the principles of insurance, preferably from a claims background.
