Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven individual to join our Technical Services team as a Bioinformatics Field Applications Scientist. The successful candidate will have a strong bioinformatics and genomics background, with a dedication to customer service and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality technical expertise to customers on all aspects of Nanopore sequencing analysis workflows
  • Work with the Technical Application and Sales teams to provide support to strategic customer accounts
  • Learn, implement, and troubleshoot new methods of identifying customer problems and suggesting working solutions based on our bioinformatics products
  • Coordinate the delivery of bioinformatics application training and consultancy services offered by Oxford Nanopore Technologies Plc
Requirements
  • Degree in bioinformatics or a related field
  • Substantial data analysis experience in a related field such as genomics, genetics, transcriptomics, etc.
  • Experience working with large NGS data sets and analysis pipelines such as genome assembly and annotation, variant calling, structural variant detection, transcriptomics, or phylogenetic analysis
  • Experience in one or more Data Science programming languages like Python, Perl, R, or similar
