Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Orpington, UK

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Temporary SEN Teaching Assistant to join our SEND Provision in Orpington.

The successful SEN TA will have experience working 1:1 and in classroom settings with pupils who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), behavioural challenges, physical disabilities, and learning disabilities.

About the Role:

  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with ASD, behavioural challenges, physical disabilities, and learning disabilities.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans.
  • Support classroom teachers in creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt and modify teaching materials and resources to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Encourage and promote pupil independence and self-confidence.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as required, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using appropriate strategies.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all pupils.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a SEND setting.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the varying needs of pupils.

Salary and Benefits:

Daily Charge: £85 - £100 (depending on experience)
