Legionella Risk Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Legionella Risk Specialist to join our team at SMS Environmental. As a Legionella Risk Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring customer and business compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274 part 2, BS 8580-1 and other relevant industry standards and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring customer and business compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274 part 2, BS 8580-1 and other relevant industry standards and guidance
  • Promoting and supporting Health & Safety regulatory standards and practises at site and in our service delivery
  • Problem solving /diagnosing faults within Plumbing Systems and making recommendations for maintenance and remedial work where appropriate
  • Coordinating with the internal SMS Quality Control/Assurance team to ensure delivery of related documentation to regulatory standards
  • Compiling accurate schematic diagrams of domestic water systems

Requirements

  • Career history within the Water Hygiene Industry and/or conducting Risk Assessments
  • Built key client relationships to identify types and levels of Legionella
  • Ensured customer and business compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274 part 2, BS 8580-1 and other relevant industry standards and guidance
  • Effectively communicated details of Legionella and providing client focused solutions
  • Monitoring risks and competent knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulatory legislation and practice
  • Strong IT skills, particularly within Apple applications
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (Enhanced DBS check)
  • Approved Legionella Risk Assessor Qualification (eg: City & Guilds, BOHS, WMSoc; certification can be arranged for an experienced candidate (Desirable)
