Job Title: Debt Advisory Associate Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Debt Advisory Associate Director to join our team in London. As a key member of our European Debt Advisory team, you will work closely with experienced practitioners to advise boards, management teams, lenders, and shareholders on optimizing capital structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage specific workstreams on debt advisory engagements, providing support to senior team members and managing external stakeholders.
  • Project manage parts of an engagement, providing support to senior team members and managing Debt Advisory and other service line teams involved.
  • Support management teams in preparing and challenging business plans, developing, analyzing, and presenting financing options.
  • Liaise with the Company's lawyers to understand key aspects of legal documentation and work alongside senior deal team members to drive documentation processes.
  • Manage teams, create effective delegation and development opportunities for junior members, and understand and actively manage the Company's risk from take-on through to completion of engagements.
  • Actively support business development activities, identify and pursue potential opportunities, and participate in existing business development programmes and key client account coverage.
  • Identify opportunities to expand jobs and provide wider Teneo services to existing clients, support execution of marketing initiatives, and actively support practice and talent development.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Broad financial structuring experience gained as an advisor within a professional services company, consultancy, or investment bank, or as an analyst in a debt or special situations fund.
  • Strong understanding of debt markets, banking, loan agreements, and other relevant financial and legal documentation.
  • Good understanding of the financial marketplace, its trends, and key players (principals and advisers).
  • Developed network of relevant contacts in the market, very strong analytical skills, including business analytics, business planning, short-term cash flows, and financing options.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, evidence of leading teams, and providing advice to clients in difficult situations.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to lead teams, develop people, and commit to working under pressure, sometimes long hours, always putting the client at the centre.
