Job Title: Soft Landscaping and Maintenance Manager

Location: Split between office and sites

Salary: 35K per year

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Soft Landscaping and Maintenance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing teams on a daily basis, ensuring they work safely and maintain high standards of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage teams to ensure safe working practices and high standards of work.
  2. Identify and resolve site problems, complaints, or difficulties.
  3. Manage subcontractors to ensure works are carried out safely, to agreed standards, and are profitable.
  4. Raise and submit staff time sheets and maintenance schedules.
  5. Organize labour resources efficiently, allocating work schedules with consideration for staff skills and experience.
  6. Manage staff, including behavior, workload, quality, and training.
  7. Complete probation reviews and annual staff appraisals.
  8. Ensure staff are trained and competent before being given tasks.
  9. Submit monthly maintenance reports to clients and the Ops Manager.
  10. Keep the Ops and Commercial Manager informed of site damage and contractual issues.
  11. Raise quotes for extra work with the client, ensuring works are accurately costed and profitable.
  12. Produce and update method statements and site-specific risk assessments.
  13. Organize the summer watering schedule and ensure profitable running of Grounds Maintenance contracts.
  14. Ensure GM contracts do not suffer excessive plant and tree defects.
  15. Organize staff parking and manage parking payments.
  16. Assist with small construction soft landscaping projects as needed.
  17. Comply with company carbon reduction policies and targets.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in Commercial Construction - Mandatory.
  2. Computer literate in Microsoft packages, including MS Project and web-based permits and document control systems.
  3. Positive attitude towards work, quality, and health, safety, and the environment.
  4. Open to on-the-job training.
