Welcome to the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, where we are committed to providing exceptional service and support to our community. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Maintenance Operations to join our team.

About the Role

This is a full-time position responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations at the Centre. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, be able to work effectively with colleagues, and possess a high level of technical knowledge in maintenance and repair techniques.

The salary for this role is approximately £40,500 per annum, which includes 35 days' leave per annum and other benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • To oversee the maintenance and repair of all Centre buildings and facilities, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • To manage the Centre's inventory and ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly maintained and replaced as needed.
  • To supervise and train maintenance staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties effectively.
  • To develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and reduce the risk of equipment failure.
  • To manage budgets and resources to ensure that maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and cost-effectively.
Requirements

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Head of Maintenance Operations who has a strong background in maintenance and repair techniques. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognized qualification in maintenance or a related field.
  • Proven experience in supervising and training maintenance staff.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and protocols.
