MacGregor Black is supporting a thriving, owner-managed advertising business in London in the recruitment of an experienced Bookkeeper for a 12-month contract.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a creative and dynamic environment, ensuring smooth financial operations and contributing to the business's success.

Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling bank accounts, processing invoices, and managing payments.

Preparation and submission of VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations, support for the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements, and management of payroll, pensions, and related employee expenses are also part of this role.

Liaising with external accountants and auditors as required, you will provide financial insights and reports to the business owner to support decision-making.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and have excellent attention to detail, bringing proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within an SME or creative industry.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Excel, strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and VAT regulations, and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively are essential skills and qualifications.

The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately £45,000, reflecting the cost of living in central London and the level of expertise required.
