About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members, managing and supervising Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, and Caseworkers, and assisting with the delivery of appropriate training and development in the department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • Manage and supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, and Caseworkers
  • Assist with the delivery of appropriate training and development in the department
  • Deal with a range of Immigration work, including detained clients, victims of trafficking and torture, asylum work, entry clearance applications, and appeals
  • Prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency
  • Prepare draft documents, including witness statements and processing evidence
  • Prepare applications to meet Home Office requirements
  • Attend conferences and court
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Registered with the Law Society Immigration & Asylum Law Accreditation
  • Committed and highly driven
  • Strong management skills
  • Committed team player with ability to approach team concerns fairly
  • Previous proven supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators
  • Professional with a pro-active approach and excellent client care skills
  • Excellent networking and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the publicly funded Immigration work
