Job Title: Senior Immigration Solicitor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Immigration Solicitor to join our Immigration Department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. As a Senior Immigration Solicitor, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of solicitors and caseworkers, providing technical expertise and guidance, and assisting with the delivery of training and development in the department.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in immigration law, with experience in dealing with a range of immigration work, including detained clients, victims of trafficking and torture, asylum work, and entry clearance applications. You will also have excellent management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services to our clients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise a team of solicitors and caseworkers
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team
  • Assist with the delivery of training and development in the department
  • Deal with a range of immigration work, including detained clients, victims of trafficking and torture, asylum work, and entry clearance applications
  • Prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency
  • Prepare draft documents, including witness statements and processing evidence
  • Prepare applications to meet Home Office requirements
  • Attend conferences and court
