About the Role

Duncan Lewis Solicitors, a leading law firm in the UK, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Immigration Solicitor to join our Immigration Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to colleagues, managing and supervising Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, and Caseworkers, and assisting with the delivery of training and development in the department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise a team of Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, and Caseworkers to ensure the effective delivery of Immigration work.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues on Immigration matters, including entry clearance applications, appeals, and judicial review work.
  • Assist with the delivery of training and development in the department, ensuring that all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent service to clients.
  • Prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare draft documents, including witness statements and processing evidence, to support Immigration applications.
  • Attend conferences and court, representing clients and presenting their cases effectively.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Registered with the Law Society Immigration & Asylum Law Accreditation (IAAS level 2 membership is desirable).
  • Strong management skills, with experience of supervising a team and managing a caseload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
