About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Veolia ES (UK) LIMITED. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the maintenance and operation of our plant, ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the daily maintenance of the plant, working closely with a team to deliver 24/7 cover and a callout rota to various sites.
  • Manage contractors and maintain records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide a high level of housekeeping and aesthetic appearance, adhering to standard operating procedures and specified standards.
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding, repair, decommissioning, and recommissioning of plant equipment, including high and low-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Requirements
  • Qualified to HNC or ONC level in a craft, trade, or engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience of steam boilers and hot water systems.
  • Proactive and self-managing, with the ability to exercise individual core technical skills effectively and flexibly to a high personal standard.
  • High standard of housekeeping.
  • Proven ability to fault find and problem solve.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and face-to-face).
  • Able to complete forms (e.g., engineers' worksheets, timesheets, PPM sheets, expenses forms) competently and accurately.
  • Full driving license.
Desirable Competencies
  • BOAS trained.
  • Other associated electrical, mechanical, and control skills.
