Academic Resilience Specialist

The Academic Office Officer will be responsible for delivering the resilience portfolio within West Midlands Police, ensuring compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and industry standards. This role requires a subject matter expert to provide advice and support on the WMP response to incidents, both internally and externally. The post holder will also be responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining resilience plans and documentation, as well as assisting with the implementation and presentation of initiatives and policies related to Business Continuity and Emergency Planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support WMP in testing and exercising plans, reviewing opportunities for testing and exercising our own plans.
- Offer advice and support on the WMP response to incidents as a subject matter expert.
- Develop, review, and maintain resilience plans and documentation.
- Assist with the implementation and presentation of initiatives and policies related to Business Continuity and Emergency Planning.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience in a relevant role or relevant life experience reinforced by work experience.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation or guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Understanding and use of IT systems, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A willingness and ability to travel throughout the West Midlands Police area.
The post holder will be expected to be flexible in traveling around West Midlands Police area and occasionally regional/national working locations. Support will be given by the department with agile working arrangements. Required to undertake internal/external training and development as necessary and maintain CPD.
