Job Overview

This role involves working within the Through Care service, which supports looked-after children and care leavers from 12-25 years old. As an Advanced Social Worker, you will be part of a team that aims to rehabilitate children from the care system to live successfully back with their parent(s).

You will hold a small caseload of looked after children who have been identified as suitable for reunification with their parents. Your key tasks will include developing robust and bespoke plans, with targeted intervention, to support successful rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive assessments of looked after children and develop tailored plans to support their rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate with therapeutic practitioners and reunification workers to deliver effective interventions.
  • Work closely with children and their families to understand their needs and develop bespoke plans.
  • Participate in court work, including revocation of care orders following successful rehabilitation.
  • Manage adolescent risk and apply contextual safeguarding principles.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have a sound knowledge of the legislation and regulations surrounding looked-after children. You will also need to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
