Job Title: Maintenance Engineer - Equipment Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Newport. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous running of our production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned and reactive engineering activities on-site, ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment and minimizing downtime.
  • Work on various types of equipment, including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify and resolve maintenance issues, ensuring the smooth operation of our processes.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failure and optimize production efficiency.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
Requirements:
  • Apprentice-trained Engineer to NVQ level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with operatives and team leaders from both maintenance and production.
  • Good understanding of current environmental, health, and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Desirable skills: 17th or 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations, PLC fault-finding skills, and knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC.
