About Us: Found Consultancy is a leading provider of transportation solutions, and we are seeking a highly skilled Transport Planner to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Transport Planner to provide operational support to our drivers and customers, build strong relationships with suppliers and internal customers, and ensure excellent operational performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and booking transport arrangements, operating our computer traffic system, and providing clear and detailed instructions to drivers, shipping agents, and freight forwarders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational transport planning support to drivers and customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Plan, book, record, and confirm all appropriate transport arrangements.
  • Operate the computer traffic system, ensuring accurate data input, regular checking, and updating of confirmations, transactions, and orders.
  • Liaise with drivers, shipping agents, and freight forwarders, supplying them with clear and detailed instructions.
  • Assume responsibility for any consignment issues within the transport office, reporting these to the Transport Manager and effectively handling any queries.
  • Provide calculations regarding sales and job costs in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Arrange additional resource or alternative options to effectively cover all operational activity.
  • Ensure planning is carried out in the most efficient and cost-effective way to achieve optimum margin potential.

Requirements:

  • Logistics experience.
  • Familiarity with using Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commercially focused.
