This is an exciting opportunity to join Reqiva, a cutting-edge technology company, as an AI Control Systems Engineer.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controls Engineer to join our team focused on developing and applying advanced AI techniques to real-world automation and control challenges. You will work on both R&D projects and commercial clients, helping to bring innovative AI solutions to industry.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for control engineering, robotics, simulation, and AI technologies. You will have the chance to work on a variety of challenging, real-world problems and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build test rigs for robotics and engineering systems to assess the performance of AI controllers in real-world conditions.
  • Develop AI training environments to optimise the functionality of AI controllers, including working with digital twin simulations and physical systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and implement solutions.
  • Build physics engines and digital twin models of industrial processes and robotics as part of the AI training pipeline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet customer requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in engineering or science (e.g., mechatronics, computer science, physics). Advanced degrees are a plus but not required.
  • Minimum 2-5 years commercial experience on relevant projects.
  • Experience with Control systems e.g. PID, MPC and familiarity with robotics, drones, or similar projects is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and work with proprietary AI software stacks to develop AI controllers.
  • Strong programming skills, especially in Python and/or C++.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
