Cost Control Specialist

Main Responsibilities:
- Pre and post measuring small works in accordance with PSA Schedule of Rates in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensuring maximum revenue by guiding efficiencies within the delivery team and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Assisting senior managers with the budgeting of construction projects, including financial forecasting and cost management.
- Controlling costs during the works and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Selecting and managing specialist contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Mitigating disputes using accurate records and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Recording, controlling, and reporting income and expenditure on a project or small works.
- Valuing progress on construction projects and ensuring forecasts are accurate and updated regularly.
- Assisting senior managers with legal and contractual issues on small works, including negotiations and dispute resolution.

Experience and Knowledge
- NEC3 experience (Option A, Option C, and TSC) with a strong understanding of PSA Schedule and BCIS knowledge.
- Technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical works and installations to assist with pre and post measures.
- Developed and maintained collaborative relationships with multiple clients, driving an outstanding customer service culture.
- Identified and implemented opportunities for contract growth, delivering financial gains and efficiencies.
- Driven an innovative approach to efficiency measures and improvements, with a good understanding of financial management.
- Good understanding of statutory compliance and regulations, including CDM regulations and commercial contracts.
- Understanding of relevant market and industry trends and the ability to add value to clients' businesses.
Qualifications
- Essential: QS Diploma and supervisory/management qualification.
- Desirable: QS Degree and Appointed Person.
Main Purpose of Job
In partnership with Houses of Parliament, this role will be responsible for monitoring and controlling costs and contracts for the engineering minor works team and small projects, ensuring a high-quality service provision in line with client expectations, Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and Service Level Agreements (SLA's). The successful candidate will work closely with senior managers and the Houses of Parliament to deliver projects that meet the required standards and exceed client expectations.
