Job Title: Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer

The Role:
  • As a Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for the Mechanical and Piping (M&P) design within multi-discipline engineering, EPCM or EPC projects.
  • You will act as the technical authority for the M&P discipline, supporting the Engineering Manager in achieving business targets.
  • Project locations will predominantly be in the UK, but you will be expected to carry out projects for Europe and potentially wider areas of the Bilfinger business areas.
  • Projects will range across the full lifecycle from concept to commissioning, in both green and brownfield applications.
  • You will manage and complete the M&P engineering and design within budget and planning, including change control and consistency with other disciplines.
  • You will be client-facing and manage client expectations regarding project scope.
  • You are responsible for the quality of the M&P engineering and design.
  • You may lead projects in a multi-discipline environment and coordinate all M&P engineering and design with other disciplines.
  • You will effectively carry out, check, and approve Engineering and Design estimates, control, and report all costs on allocated projects.
Requirements:
  • More than 5 years of experience as a Lead Engineer M&P in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company.
  • Experience of acting as a technical authority or line manager for an engineering organisation.
  • Deep knowledge of M&P engineering and design, with a sound knowledge of other disciplines (Automation, Civil, Structural, EC&I, and Process).
  • MEng / BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experienced with the production of mechanical specifications, scopes of work, calculations, drawings, and schedules.
  • Familiarity with main M&P design packages, including AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, and Caesar II.
