We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with complex needs, including Social Emotional and Mental Health, Autism, and challenging behaviour.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children, young people, or young adults with mental health requirements, challenging behaviour, or Autism. They will be able to provide individualised behaviour interventions and ensure the child's safety.

We offer a supportive working environment focused on restorative practices, with classes of no more than ten. Our school provides excellent training and support for our staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children with complex needs, including Social Emotional and Mental Health, Autism, and challenging behaviour.
  • Provide individualised behaviour interventions and ensure the child's safety.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement behaviour plans.
  • Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children, young people, or young adults with mental health requirements, challenging behaviour, or Autism.
  • Clear Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce/ Child and Adult Workforce) registered to the Update Service.
  • Available for Full-Time Work – Monday to Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm.
  • Teaching Assistant qualifications or equivalent (not essential).
