As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage in their learning journey.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assisting in managing behaviour and implementing strategies that promote a positive and structured learning environment
  • Collaborating with teachers and professionals to ensure a personalised approach to each student's development
  • Supporting students in building self-esteem, emotional resilience, and social skills
  • Monitoring progress and offering feedback to staff

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or similar behavioural challenges
  • A minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Eligible to work in the UK without any restrictions
