We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with students in Key Stages 2, 3, and 4 who face additional learning and behavioural needs in the Bradford area.
This is a fantastic opportunity to provide meaningful support and work closely with students Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
The school is committed to providing exceptional education for students with SEMH and additional needs, with a nurturing environment and a team-focused approach.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage in their learning journey.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
- Assisting in managing behaviour and implementing strategies that promote a positive and structured learning environment
- Collaborating with teachers and professionals to ensure a personalised approach to each student's development
- Supporting students in building self-esteem, emotional resilience, and social skills
- Monitoring progress and offering feedback to staff
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or similar behavioural challenges
- A minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a proactive and solution-focused approach
- Eligible to work in the UK without any restrictions
