Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive clinical assessments, including psychiatric and physical investigations, for a wide range of substance misusers.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to address the complex needs of clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Participate in continuing professional development, annual appraisal, and revalidation to maintain expertise and stay up-to-date with best practices.
  • Work closely with clients and their families to empower them to make informed decisions about their treatment and care.

Requirements:

  • Medical Degree and completion of Basic Medical Training.
  • Registration with the GMC specialist register as a Consultant Psychiatrist with a License to Practice.
  • Good knowledge of addiction psychiatry and legislation relating to Mental Health.
  • Experience of working with substance misuse and mental health issues, with a clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services.
