Maintenance Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of trains by overseeing the execution of the Heavy Maintenance plan.
Your primary focus will be on managing the Production Heavy Maintenance Team, including monitoring and controlling Heavy Maintenance Projects. You will ensure that accountability for the heavy maintenance projects is clearly defined and delegated, and identify staffing requirements for budgeted fixed workload to ensure flexibility and high levels of productivity are achieved.
You will also be responsible for managing organisational change to optimise working practices, identifying training and other resource needs for effective heavy maintenance projects, and ensuring all Production meets the Safety and Quality requirements of internal standards and customer specifications.
In addition, you will monitor working practices to ensure compliance with mandatory and statutory requirements, ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with local policies and procedures, and minimise heavy maintenance operating costs and maximise efficiencies through effective resource planning.
You will be a key point of contact for sub-contractors and customers, and will support continuous improvement of processes.
About YouWe value passion and attitude over experience. To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Higher National Certificate, or equivalent, in an Engineering field preferable.
- Management experience of large groups of staff (10+).
- Preferable experience in fleet and/or maintenance operations.
- Technical knowledge of relevant Traction and Rolling Stock.
- Understanding of Railway Depot and Railway Industry Operations preferable.
- Understanding of local Customer requirements.
- Ability to use SAP and MS Office packages.
